Day 1: Bude, Widemouth Bay and the best pizza in Cornwall

I’m currently on holiday with my Nan and Dad in Cornwall. I’ve never been before which means it’s a new and fun experience as I love travelling to new places. I thought I’d blog about what we did and put together a few ideas of things you can do whilst on holiday in North Cornwall and also reviews along the way.12182290_10208294063252240_632652092_n

We stayed in Kilkhampton on Penstowe Holiday Park. We have a lovely little conservatory and garden on our chalet which has a slight sea view which was nice. Kilkhampton, like most of Cornwall, is a very quiet little village with a few pubs, shops and a few takeaways that are really nice.

We got there on Sunday evening so we went and unpacked and then went to have tea at The New Inn in Kilkhampton. I really recommend going there if you’re in the area. The food is really nice and fresh, especially the fish and chips! They also have a great selection of ciders available and ales, it’s a bit of an old-fashioned pub, but it had a really good atmosphere.

On our first full day, we went and explored Bude. Which was a lovely little town, we spend most of the afternoon mooching in the shops. We also went to a really lovely ice cream parlour and cafe called Cornish Ice Cream Cafe, Bude which had a really good selection of ice creams and sandwiches.

Later on, we went and explored Widemouth Bay, a beach not far from Bude that’s really popular with surfers. It was quite an overcast day as we got to the beach, but it was just warm enough to go and have a paddle in the sea. My Dad and I also went and explored the rock pools, which was really fun and very nostalgic for me, this also involved us nearly getting stranded as the tide came in!

We had dinner at La Bocca Pizza Kitchen, which served the best pizza I’ve ever tasted! Read my full review by clicking here!
